Inspired to write a book!

When I read that Jane Roberts had channelled a spirit by the name of Seth I was keen to read her book. I had been brought up with strong Spiritualist leanings from my father and paternal grandmother and had spent a few years studying Spiritism with someone who had lived for many years in Brazil. Soon, I was also channelling and enjoying the amazing messages I received from angels and Ascended Masters. I found it difficult to work alone and so I formed a group where we met to share ideas and we supported each other with information exchange and sharing ideas. We distributed our channelled messages to friends, many of whom then wanted to set up a group themselves so I wrote a booklet to help them to do so. As time passed, I had enquiries from mediums all over the world where there was no centre of excellence. My booklet grew in size to include healing divination, dowsing and other fascinating areas where we were gaining expertise and understanding from each other. This became a successful distance learning course and many groups were set up around the world to receive and transmit messages from Spirit. All this happened with the help of an Ascended Master named Diotim

 

Recent polls show that people who support a charity or who do voluntary work are happier and healthier than others who do not. Of course, if we want to live in a caring and considerate society, we must practise these qualities. Finding a spiritual path leads to fulfilment, especially where we can share with others of similar values.

There is a smorgasbord of spiritual paths available to choose from. How do we decide which will be the most worthwhile? Do all spiritual teachers have feet of clay? For many, being told what to believe and what to do is not appealing. In today’s world, intelligent people seek an experience where they can learn something of benefit to themselves and others, where they can share with others and where they can make a difference! One way to do this is to speak to Spirit and listen for advice and guidance. I did this and was guided to write a book about how to set up a group to channel wisdom from the spirit realms.

I had admired the Seth books and wanted to also speak to Spirit and record the messages I received, but working alone was very difficult for me. I needed others, for motivation, as a sounding board and also to help deliver the amazing messages I received. From the founding of my first group, I wrote a small booklet about my experiences of setting up the circle. A friend moved to Spain and wanted to set up a psychic circle there, so I expanded the booklet into a distance learning course. 

Upon completion of the book, an Angelic Messenger, known only as Francis, spoke to me of the sadness felt in the highest spirit realms about our planet and that we must save many species under threat from pollution, climate change, habitat loss, hunting and other man-made problems. I decided to dedicate the royalties from this book to an international charity that protects endangered species from extinction which is called  The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust which was founded by the late Gerald Durrell. ‘The Lightworkers Circle Guide’ contains information about how to interview applicants, it includes a suitable relaxation method and it contains a full workshop programme about working with crystals, dowsing, meditations and tutorials and other elements of good circle-work practise. I would like to support the group leaders that use this book to set up their circle. I can offer help with a website, network, blog, radio broadcasts or through assistance with the writing their own book on spirit-based messages that they have received. 

‘The Lightworkers Circle Guide – A Workbook for Spiritual Groups’ as it is now titled is the only book available that explains how to facilitate a channelling circle. It contains information about how to lead a group especially for spiritual work and it contains a full workshop programme for accessing spirit guidance which includes meditations and other elements of good circle-work practise. I would like to support any group that is set up with the use of this book so that spirit-based messages that are received can be transmitted, either through a website, newsletter, blog, radio broadcasts or through a combined work which collates experiences and messages that are wise and kind. 

The dawning of the Age of Aquarius filled many people with great enthusiasm and hope. The old patriarchal religions were seen as outmoded and not understanding the problems of the modern world. During the latter part of the twentieth century, we heard from specialists in Eastern philosophies, Native American ways of knowledge, how to ‘be here now’, revelations from mystery and secret societies, sadly, all to no avail for true spiritual seekers! We have heard about and read ‘the Secret’, sought abundance, thought positive, fluffed up our self- confidence, felt the fear and done it anyway, expressed wealth we didn’t have and spent money we didn’t have due to the Law of Attraction, and where has all this lead us? I have spoken to many people who were convinced of New Age promises, but now they have lost their mortgages, their jobs are in danger and they are peeved and disillusioned that they were allowed to be so misled.

Numerous philosophies promised to change our world and failed. What do the great gurus of our day offer? Can their message really change our world for the better? Do they address the important issues of war escalation, climate change, pollution of our seas, land and air, fuel shortages, civil unrest, overpopulation, species extinction, how the rich exploit the poor and other major problems that will certainly afflict our children’s children and perhaps affect us in later life?

The year ahead, 2012 was the Year of the Channelled Message’. No more gurus with feet of clay, telling us what we want to hear! This time, angels and ascended masters who have been waiting patiently in the spirit realms for thousands of years were contacted by channelling mediums to tell us, what we really don’t want to hear because what we need to hear will be very painful!

Channelling is an immensely ancient ability that was used by many early civilisations and is still used by some. It involves speaking to Spirit and waiting to hear their voice. However, there are many types of spirit, from different realms, including negative and destructive ones, so it is important to contact a spirit that has something constructive to impart. In ancient times, due to the need to identify and avoid low level spirits, the personality of the deity and its value system became defined, such as whether the Godhead was kind, peaceful and generous, or whimsical, mean and punishing.

All the ancient prophets, sibyls and seers, channelled messages from the spirit world. On a visit to Mount Sinai/Horeb, Moses channelled the 10 Commandments which saw the Jewish people through the forty years they spent in the desert seeking the Promised Land. Socrates heard the voice of his ‘daemon’ or guardian spirit who warned him of approaching danger.

In the run-up to 2012, astrologers and forward thinking mediums are concerned about wars, energy crises, civil unrest, pollution and other upheavals and want to contact elevated spirits who have, like the prophets of old, direct instruction, warning and advice to impart. Women are just as able as men, and quite likely more able due to their greater interest in spiritual matters, to channel wisdom, understanding, peace, truth and justice from higher beings in the non-physical world. Women are the greatest supporters of the spiritual movements across the world but are rarely paid for their spiritual work, and if they are, they are not paid as much as the men who preach spiritual messages.

Watkins Books provides the top ranking exponents of spirituality in what is called the ‘Top 100 Spiritual Power List’. This features Eckhart Tolle at number one and Oprah Winfrey at number eight. There are only three women in the top ten and only twenty two in the top one hundred. This says something about how men retain authority to influence the world on a spiritual level even today.

Though many channellers work alone, trance mediumship is something that is best conducted in a group setting. ‘The Lightworkers Circle Guide – A Workbook for Spiritual Groups’ by Wendy Stokes is the only book that explains how to form a circle to receive profound messages from the spirit realms. This is a not-for-profit book. A spirit supported the author whilst writing her book and informed her about the creation of our astounding universe, the miracle of life from innate chemical substances and the immense intelligence of the natural world that maintains the delicate balance of our planet. The month of November is traditionally known as 'holy month’. It bears the energy of the House of Spirituality. The month begins with All Saints and All Souls on the first and second day, and it includes many special days that have been honoured for many thousands of years because at this time of year, the veil grows thin between the worlds and we are drawn to remember those who have crossed the Great Divide between this world and the next. Three major celebrations of remembrance take place during this month, All Hallows, the Day of Remembrance for those who died in War and Thanksgiving. In very ancient times, the elderly and infirm who would not live through a difficult winter fasted unto death so those who were young could eat because the future depended on the young to survive, not the old whose last meal is said to have taken place at Martinmass, on eleventh of November. This eleventh of November is special because it will be the 11th day of the 11th month, of a year that includes the number 11. Therefore, it has the triple energy of a powerful number. At the 11th hour of this day, the four-fold effect will provide the stability of the square to maximise its power to the full.

As a month suited to mediumship, I have channelled a message from the spirit, ‘Bona Fortuna':

“Eleven is a master number and the number of friendship and community. In ancient times, honour was bestowed on those who made self-sacrifices and we must not forget or let their service go unrecognised. A universal power was enabled by them and is available for you to use on this day if you wish to take it. You are invited to make contact with as many of your friends as possible at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. List your desires, hopes and aspirations, be available to listen and respond to those of others, and request and provide mutual support where possible. This is a day upon which to offer assistance to community groups, a coming together of people, power and possibilities not seen in the world for many years.”
