Spiritual Cinema Club Review

Spiritual Cinema Club: This club is endorsed by reputable spiritual teachers, such as Bruce Lipton, the late Dr Wayne Dyer, James Twyman, Neale Donald Walsch - to name a few. It supplies films that rarely reach the general public but are ideal for those who like to watch a DVD at home with friends and family. Most of the films this organisation provides are suitable for the entire family and are often educational and always uplifting, meaningful and inspirational. The organisation requests a monthly subscription and I have heard their choice referred to as ‘film therapy’. 

Take ‘the Cats of Mirikitani’ for instance. This is a true story of ‘Jimmy’ Mirikitani and he plays himself in the leading role. Jimmy was an outstanding American/Japanese artist who was separated from his sister when they were sent to internment camps in California when the Japanese invaded Pearl Harbour. His mother’s extended family died when the nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. Jimmy’s US passport was confiscated and he worked in a frozen vegetable factory after the war, then travelled around, unable to settle down. He was a cook for the artist, Jackson Pollock, but his amazing artistic abilities were unrecognised. At 80 years of age, he was living on the streets of New York when Linda Hattendorf invited him into her home to avoid the aftermath of the terrorist attack on New York Trades Centre buildings. Linda managed to negotiate for Jimmy a pension, social housing, and a job teaching elderly people how to paint. Linda also took him to visit the camp where he was interned during the war and she found his sister from whom he was separated 60 years before.
