The Power of Stories

From Hallowquest by Caitlin & John Matthews:

“Britain, called Logres in early texts has an Otherworldly quality, just as  Tibet has Shambhalla, Greece has Hesperides and Britain has Avalon. These timeless realities are mystical repositories of ancestral lore. One could even say they exist in their own right, as we can create them at times when they are needed, perhaps when reality becomes too painful to endure. Daemons are inner guiding agencies, voices of our dreams, and our inner companion Spirit. Like the language of the birds, our daemon has a mysterious ability to remember that which we have never consciously known. It has the ability to pick out of the air the patterns and networks that shape our greater reality. Stories are powerful products of our unconscious mind, they have a variety of uses, including as a method to programme the mind.”

Perhaps the most well known story that has changed lives over the course of 2000 years is the story of Jesus, a spiritual teacher and wandering healer who was unjustly crucified. This story teaches us about the importance of love and caring, and the ways in which injustice can cause misery and heartache.
