Card Reading for August

The first card chosen is from the Symbolon deck by Peter Orban, Ingrid Zinnel and Thea Weller and is titled 'Phoenix'. It has astrological significance - Scorpio/Aquarius-Pluto/Uranus.
This extraordinary bird rises from the flames. It is as old as time. It is said to rise from the ashes, and bring renewal. The lower ground of the card is dark, yet the bird, full of vigour, rises as a ray of light. The card describes something that has been destroyed in your life, yet through this catastrophe, you can become liberated. You are welcomed to meditate on the image of the card, that will motivate and instruct you to rise, alive, and with strength for the future.

The second card is the card of Justice, here numbered VIII in the Tarot of the Universal Goddesses by Maria Caratti. She is the Egyptian Goddess of Truth and Justice and she speaks to us directly. Do you hear her voice say with great power and authority: "Bow down before me, for I am Ma'at, the Goddess of Truth, Justice and Order. Obey my commands and you will be rewarded. By the same coin, or disobey me, and be condemned by the 42 judges.

Next, I have chosen the King of Bees from The Victorian Steampunk Tarot by Liz Dean and Ben Speight. The King of the Bees heralds a time of action, common sense and problem solving. The King can represent the positive influence of a professional man, such as a lawyer or business leader who is clever, witty and ambitious. He sees the big picture and has energy, however he bores easily and may soon move on.

Lastly, I have chosen 'Opossum' from the Power Animal Oracle Cards by Steven D Farmer.  The subtitle is 'Strategy' and the advice is to have a back up plan! So we are guided not to get too attached to a 'one and only' ambition. There should be a wider assessment of possibilities. You don't want to be stuck with an agenda that seems to be outdated. Trying the same thing over and over again when it is not working can be exhausting if no different results are forthcoming. You are requested to try something new and see if that yields a better potential. Listen to your inner promptings. The Opossum is a mighty animal, and appears in a reading to show the long term big picture. Reading by Wendy Stokes
